FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have food and beverages for purchase?

We are a licensed bar. We also offer soft drinks, water, a variety of snacks and amazing movie theatre style popcorn with a variety of seasonings.

* Please note that as of November 2nd, we are still waiting for confirmation of our liquor license approval from the AGCO.  We expect to have this in place by the beginning of December.

Do you serve alcohol?

We sure do!  We offer a selection of canned beer, cider, seltzers and sparkling wine. HOWEVER, we take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously.  Intoxicated throwers will not be allowed to participate

Can we bring our own food? Do you offer catering?

Outside snack and drinks are not permitted.  We would be pleased to provide you with catering menus from some of our amazing Blue Mountain Village restaurants.

How long is a booking?

Most bookings are 75 minutes. You are welcome to book longer!

Can I arrive early?

Yes, please arrive 15 mins in advance of your booking to allow adequate time for our check-in procedures including signing waivers (please sign in advance), vaccine passport screening and contact tracing.

Do you offer walk-in availability?

Blue Mountain Village is a very busy place, we encourage you to book online, in advance.  Walk-in bookings are subject to availability and will be accommodated when possible!

What is the format for our event?

Your coach will offer safety, instruction, one on one coaching and show you the ropes on our INSANE projected target system.  We are pumped to be the FIRST axe location in Ontario (2nd in Canada) to utilize this unique system that offers interactive games and scoring.  Traditional bullseyes, tic-tac toe, connect-four and ZOMBIE attack are some of amazing games you can entertain yourself with!

What should I wear?

We require all throwers to wear closed-toe shoes.  Beyond that, something comfortable!!

Are ski boots allowed indoors?

Ski boots are not allowed in the lower level of our indoor space.  You are welcome to pop in the front entrance to check availability or have a quick peak to see what the hype is all about!

How many people can I bring?

Group sizes can vary from 2-160!  Groups of 2-24 throwers can book online.  Groups greater than 24 can email melissa@axedthrowing.com for more details.

Do you have an age restriction?

We don’t!

Kids love throwing axes…and we love to teach them.  Most kids can’t believe they get to hold an axe, let alone throw it!  Do axes and kids sounds like a crazy match?  Rest assured, we have taught TONS of kids (as young as 4!) to throw axes safely and successfully. We require kids to be strong enough to safely get the axe to the target. Most importantly, kids need to listen, follow the rules and be safe!

How much does it cost?

2-6 throwers:

  • 75 Minutes $35/per person on a shared lane
  • 75 Minutes | Private lane $210 (up to 6 throwers)

Groups 7-24 throwers:

  • 75 Minutes $35/per person on a private lane

How do shared lanes work?

When you book a shared lane you will be mixed in with one other small group to a maximum of 6 throwers. If you prefer to have the lane privately, you are welcome to book a private lane for up to 6 throwers!

How many throwing lanes does my group get?

1 Lane – groups 2-6 throwers shared or private
2 Lanes – 7-12 throwers
3 Lanes – 13-18 throwers
4 Lanes – 19-24 throwers
6 Lanes – 25+ throwers – Full space booking

Do I need to be physically fit or in shape to throw axes?

Nope!  One of the best things about throwing axes is that anyone can do it! The perception is that you need to be athletic to have success while throwing and that isn’t the case.  With simple coaching, you’ll have success in no time

Can I sign my waiver in advance?

Please do! In fact, we highly encourage you to.  Your booking confirmation will contain the link to your booking waiver.  Alternatively, you can access our waiver on our website and enter your party name.  Signing in advance speeds up your check-in time and gets you throwing faster.

Is axe throwing safe?

Absolutely! The perceived risk is much higher than the actual risk!  We have had 20,000 people throw axes with us and not a scratch!

Can I take pictures or videos?

Please do!  And we’d love it if you’d take it one step further and give us some social media love @axedthrowing.

Do you have a league?

Not yet! We love leagues and hope to be able to offer them soon! Email us to express your interest melissa@axedthrowing.com .

Is your location wheelchair accessible?

We are!  Please let us know when you book, and we will direct you to our accessible entrance. Currently, our Accessible Washroom is under renovation, but there are other accessible washroom facilities in the village.

Can I throw if I’m pregnant?

Throwing while pregnant is a personal decision based on your physical condition and comfort level.  We have had numerous women throw axes safely with us into the late stages of pregnancy.

Can I bring my own axe?

Yes! Axes must be in good condition and approved by your AXED coach.

Can I arrive later than my booking time?

Yes, however your booking time has a defined start and end time.  If you arrive late you will reduce the amount of time you have to throw.

What if my group sizes changes?

No problem, you can modify your group size up to 48 hours in advance.  Increasing your booking size is subject to availability.

What if I must cancel my booking?

We require 48 hour’s notice for any changes to your booking or to cancel.

Will you open in the event of poor weather?

Our location is open 365 days of the year – like Blue Mountain Village – we operate rain and/or shine. If you’re booked on the outdoor patio, will do our best to accommodate you indoors.
